Maryland police were recently dispatched to investigate reports of a vehicle traveling in the wrong direction on a Salisbury highway. As the officers drove toward the area, they received an additional report of a head-on motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival at the accident scene, police say they saw the man they later arrested standing outside of his vehicle. DUI charges were later filed.
Investigators say the 30-year-old man was transported to a local medical center for treatment and then released. At that time, police took him into custody for suspected drunk driving. The other driver became entrapped in his vehicle after the collision but was extricated and taken to a trauma center.
